yes and no. knockdown is other name of nofacecontact. Seidokaikan and Gloved Karate are more like kickboxing knockdown is kyokushin, ashihara, enshin, without punching to the face.

those karate types are very similar and gives you very good basics for other fight competitions, such as k1 or mma. IMO traditional karate types are even better for real fight than those modern knockdown versions.
