Statewide/Northwest Region
Congratulations to Justin Burt, a student at Lawton Chiles High School in Tallahassee. His "Be Bear Aware" video was chosen as the Statewide winner of the FWC's Florida Black Bear Public Service Announcement (PSA) Video Contest. Florida high school students were asked to create a short PSA video to raise awareness and educate the public on black bear issues they think people need to know. FWC received 17 entries from 10 schools, with over 90 students participating in the competition. FWC Community Relations staff, located throughout the state, judged the videos using criteria such as Audience Appeal, Creativity, and Relevance to Black Bear Awareness. Winning videos were chosen from each of FWC's five regions, and a Statewide winner was selected from that group. Justin's video won for the Northwest Region as well as Statewide. To view the Regional winners' videos, check out more uploads on the MyFWCsocial channel coming soon. For information on Florida's bears, please visit www.MyFWC.com/bear .
