Would the lane 1 theory hold up again or would the Final come down to the 2 Sprint powerhouses of the world (China and the Philippines)? 40 seconds seperates the men from the boys and only 0.1 of a second ends up separating a Gold from a Silver medal at the end.

Congratulations to the Filo guys who were amazingly fit and strong.

  • did boat #2 take in water? Its rear seemed submerged in water way more than other boats.

  • It was the regatta course at Racice - it was awful. The boats created massive waves behind them due to the shallow course - so the reason you can barely see the back of that boat is the massive wave kicked up by the philippines who were a long way ahead. Boat 2 is also Slovakia who were too heavy to be quite as fast over 200m. The heavier crews were much mroe disadvantaged on the shallow course than the lighter crews.

  • i don't even see any singapore boat in this final

  • Thats right. Singapore weren't in the A final. They were 2nd in the B final behind Australia.

  • i am so proud to be a filipino!!!!!!walang kwenta man ang gobyerno natin...pero di ito nakapigil para magtagumpay tayo!!!!!!

  • @Flash3Francisco .... I saw the team story on TV. The government would not even support them. They have to almost beg for sponsorship to even go to this years championship in Tampa. Filipinos from Tampa have to gather some food to feed the team. I think they won 4 golds and 2 silvers this year so far.

  • ohhhh my Philippines.... simply machines...!

  • Jadenlai, I'm pretty sure the Philippines threw away their funding. They received funding from their government when they were members of the IDBF, but transferred to the ICF. The ICF takes the dragonboat funding and uses it for kayak, canoeing, and personal gain. Again, I'm not positive about the whole situation, but this is what I've heard :(

  • Awesome!!!!! I hope the government realizes that dragonboat especially the national team is world class and needs funding. Just forget the politics surrounding Philippine dragonboat! It's a shame that some do need to destroy the morale of a champion team just to make sure that they get the attention I'm sure they are not deserving of. To those people behind the sabotage of the funding of the Philippine national dragonboat team, just great! Win medals first like Coach Hakim and his crew because

  • i row but dragon boating looks fucking epic!

  • heavy guys or not, waves, winds etc... if you really deserve to win, you will win. Philippine team's at best performance at this race. Other teams other than China was left behind with a big margin. So no way it was just luck. Philippine Team deserves to win this. Not only because of hard training but also surviving from hard life.

  • oh my goodness, helluh raw.

  • lane 3 owns this like its nothing (Y)

  • xD haha löwen so fahren wir an der dm auch xD
