Until recently, Portland, Oregon-based musician Jared Mees had no band to call his own. But for his sophomore album, Caffeine, Alcohol, Sunshine Money, Mees gathered over a dozen musicians, known as The Grown Children, to formally back him in his quirky pop endeavor.

I can't imagine a worse fate than living my life to be "successful" and only realizing at the end that I never lived at all. i grew up with jared - and yes as mentioned above he was/is very bright given every opportunity in the world. One of the wealthiest kids in town he could have done anything with his life...His choice to make mediocre utterly forgettable music is not particularly astonishing. A life of ease does not usually produce individuals that strive to satisfy anything besides their own selfish desires. Aww Jared I knew you when you had a crush on Enui - we all expected so much more...
