Ok, I presented my stance in part 1 (go see it if you haven't yet). Now it's time to explain it. Hopefully you'll be able to see my reasoning here, though I'll admit I could have explained it a little better. Hey, what do you want, it was past 3 in the morning. :P

  • You yourself are saying that you are taking it further and further, but you have taken it too far and made a topic out of a foolish comment to begin with. The fact is, well, here, we elect who we want to govern, and as off yet we have not elected any drug lords or pimps to power. You make a commonality between the art of war and a criminal that runs round with a "bunch of goons I fail to see any significant parallel in a lot of what you have to say.

  • It's true that we elect those who govern us, certainly. But did you pick out the people who get to be elected? Or better yet, did you pick out those vying for the position who get to be exposed to the public? How many people know there were 6 candidates for president last year?

There's a certain group of people who are chosen to be picked by the people, and these are usually either the descendants of robber barons, or those with ties to these families. Ignorance of this doesn't change that.

  • 1. Your seem to assume that there is a fixed amount of wealth and that no more can be created, it can only be distributed. Therefore all a company does is grabbing a bigger piece if the cake. (Strawman? That's what I hear you say!)

    2. I may not always love my government and agree with everything they do but I have zero problem distinguishing them from the crack dealers and human trafficking networks.

  • I'm not sure where you're getting your first assumption from. I don't say anything about a fixed amount of wealth, rather the types of people who are willing to use force in order to secure wealth, resources, and power, while making sure to limit other people's ability to do the same. Whether wealth is limited or not is irrelevant.

  • That is both insightful and terrifying view on everything that goes on.

    Great vid nonetheless.

PS: can I feature this on my channel ?

  • go right ahead.

  • Further, the psych profiles of detective cops and career (read: successful) criminals are typically identical.

  • Where do you think the money comes from that the government hands out? First they have to take it from someone else. The defenition of government is - the sanctioned use of the threat of force!!!

  • I agree with FredricF, I dont like admitting it but without government chaos and anarchy would surely prevail! Human nature alone dictates this. The statement "there is not much difference between a criminal organisation and a government" is a general all round fail as you would find in definition of the words in question alone. Ones strives to better the people, while the other just takes.

  • "The ONLY difference is perceived legitimacy."

    Really?

Cannot remember voting for any crack dealers. Nor have I seen crack dealers organize health care (not everybody live in the US).

Granted, most, possibly all, states started as bands of bandits telling others that they where chosen by God to rule. But things have happened since then. States have laws that apply to everybody. The government organize police for the security of it's citizens.

Granted, everything is not perfect, but really....

  • "2. I may not always love my government and agree with everything they do but I have zero problem distinguishing them from the crack dealers and human trafficking networks."

Really? How 'bout the fact that they created the incentive for the crack dealer to exist in the first place? KNOWINGLY, given the timeframe after the Volstead Act was repealed.

I could go on FAR beyond the limits of the text. Look deeper. The ONLY difference is perceived legitimacy.

  • Just drop a link when it's up and ready for the viewing. Looking forward to it.

  • So your point is that there are bad and selfish people in government, in business and among criminals? No argument there.

You remarked that psychopaths, or persons with psychopathic traits, are common at the top of any organization, well I also believe that to be true to a degree.

But I honestly fail to understand what your point is.

That we are screwed no matter what? Maybe.

That we should be aware of this? Sure!

We should start a revolution? Like that would change anything.

  • Thank you =D.
