Cloud to Cloud Lightning - Lehigh Valley, PA

Several family and friends witnessed cloud-to-cloud lightning (none of whom ever saw this before). I love a good storm and was amazed at this slow-moving, lightning storm that moved over the Lehigh valley for about an hour. More interesting than the storm is the goofy commentary offered by my kids, wife, niece and myself.

The UFO is just a firefly. There are some more you can see in this video, e.g. at 6m03s. It's purely coincidental that the firefly lights up when it had just passed the storm clouds.

No thunder because it was too far away...silly rabbit!

The reason there is no thunder is because there is no charge from Earth to meet the charge from the lightning strike itself; that meeting of the positive and negative charges causes the thunder, it`s a colossal explosion. Because it`s not touching the ground, then there is no charge to be met with. Therefore, no thunder.
