This is Whoreculture at it's finest. Live and on fire at the Alachua Music Harvest. I was always stoked that this performance was recorded. Rich had a tremendous night vocally, Jon and Boyd were solid as usual, Chris played slide guitar out of his mind all night (and on this song), Mike Rotolante as the sound guy had a GREAT mix going, and I invited a few of Gainesville's best drummers to add on to the extended jam here also. This song was a highlight of many highlights for us that night. Fifteen years later I am astounded at how I remember every last detail of this show: In particular the crowd was AWESOME, I remember Marshall Lowe (the Godfather of the Music Harvest concerts) asking me before we went on stage if we were ready to play for 20,000 people. I told him we were gonna burn the stage down and we damn near did. Chris played barefooted (ala Skynrd) so he could feel the fire on the stage. I believe that we did three encores this night, which was two more than allowed but the crowd wouldn't let us stop. When we finally did leave the stage, I made it around 20 yards before I passed out in front of some EMTs who promptly started filling me with fluids. Amongst many great and memorable gigs in our music career, this night was certainly up at the top.
Enjoy! Joey Larson, Feb 2011

  • PS: The drummers that played with us that night were Craig Anderson of the band Soma and Mike Stevens ( younger bro of one of our guitarists--Jon Stevens). Mike played in lots of bands over the years but most notably with one of Gainesville's best ever: The Tone Unknown. I would have been wrong to not name both of them as they played with us on multiple songs at multiple gigs. What a great memory for all of us. Thanks again guys!!
