Kona Skatepark 30th Birthday on 7/7/07

30th Birthday Celebration at Kona Skatepark. Clips from the tombstone competition and the vert demo which included legends such as Mike McGill, who invented the McTwist, and Tony Hawk. Sorry about the minimal clips in the vert demo because I could not get a good spot and the bald guy got in front of my out of nowhere.

what, someone couldn't spring for some pumps ? 2500 people attend, and lil kids are luggin out water in garbage cans ? great skating and song though !

The park, oddly enough, has no pumps. Also kind of surprised me that in the south that no one had pumps in their car because for some reason at least one person always has something like that with them. Also I do not understand why predominantly little kids cleaned the water, guess it might have been to say they cleaned it or they thought it was cool? Guess you never know though. And thanks, the tombstone is one of the hardest things to skate so its hard to truly respect it just by this video.

It is the best park I have been to. Has a sick street section, all the old school sections, the snake run, the two halfpipes... Its amazing

just came back from kona myself. i was in the longboarding competition down Snake Run this weekend. if there are any longboarders in the area our next comp will be not this thursday but next. we are always looking for more competition

@TennesseeRocket kona is a home to skaters, longboarders, bladers, bmxers. all the little kids, they are all skaters. anyone who goes to kona is part of a family. i belong to that family. kona is a home to me. we do whatever we can to help out with our home. whether we are bailing out Bowl, Freestyle, or even the Snake Bowl, we do what we can to make our home a better place. im thinking about asking the owner if i can help repave the J Run. its getting a huge crack in it. come see the fam again!
