In the examples used, German thrash wins. Overall, I vote North American (so as to include Canadian bands >:P) due to the sheer number of quality bands. Heathen, Anthrax and Overkill do a lot for a genre.

Of the bands mentioned, Kreator is my favorite. However, American vocals are MUCH easier to listen to. Where the hell is Testament btw?
