The Interlude from A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten is one of the first solos Faye learned as a young harpist. Having only two weeks notice, she prepared the entire work of ten carols for harp and chorus for a high school group in Wisconsin. It remains one of her favorites because of Brittens use of harmonics combined with a broad range of dynamic colors.

These solos can also be heard on Ms Seemans newest CD for solo harp, Nearer to Heaven, scheduled for release in mid-March 2010. All proceeds from the recording are being donated to Exodus World Service - a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to connecting American families with refugees from around the world who are entering the United States and will never return home. Since May of 2009, Faye has had an ongoing relationship with a family from Nepal, who were exiled from Bhutan in 1999. They had lived in a Nepali refugee camp until moving to Wheaton, Illinois in May 2009 to start a new life. To pre-order the CD before its release in March 2010, log onto: www.legacyfundraiser.com and connect to Faye Seeman Exodus World Service. Or call 1-800-360-5192. The CD will be sent directly to your home. To order after its release on March 15, log onto: www.fayeseeman.com and click, order here. To make a donation to Exodus World Service, log onto www.exodusworldservice.org, look for your support changes lives and ask to donate to the Nepali refugees. Thank you.

  • Magnificent playing, magnificent harp.

  • beautiful piece!
