  • @mustnotforget Boronovskis was your father?

  • @ooogooman. Yeah, at that point Boronovskis had secured bronze, surprising everyone and then was matched with Geesink. The idea was that there was no standard way to beat Geesink so his team hatched a plan that he would approach Geesink calmly and rush him for a leg grab at the last second as a surprise attack. As you can see he rushed him from a distance so there was no real surprise. So yeah i'd say you could call it a desperation attack but knowing dad it would be more like fatalism.

  • @ooogooman Desperation attack?

  • @ooogooman Ehh some people are just like that.

  • What a strange way for his opponent to start the match, that rush. I've really never seen the like of it. Does anyone know what was going on there?

  • My name is Antonio Gallegos, Sandan, from UAEM, Mexico. When I knew Anton Geesink I knew that I was touching a great historical icon. His death has moved me deeply. Everyday I remember his famous battle cry; "I am ready." Thank you from Los Angeles, California.

  • RIP Mr.Geesink

  • mijn jeugdheld, onze legende mogen hij ruste in vrede en dat wij hem nooit vergeten

  • R.I.P

  • RIP Geesink
