November 11, 2010. The NYC LGBT Community Center presented a 90 minute panel discussion on the current state of the movement to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," the law under which LGBT servicemembers are discharged from the USA's military for simply being honest about who they are.
The evening was moderated by Richard Socarides, White House Special Assistant under President Clinton. On the panel were award winning Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart, Nathaniel Frank, the author of "Friendly Fire," and Winnie Stachelberg, SVP of the Center for American Progress. In Part One, they are introduced by West Point graduate (and former Army Captain) Sue Fulton.
For these videos, I have tried to present the entire program and have edited as little as possible. Any cuts that exist were necessitated by the technical limitations of the equipment with which I work.
