Bob Marley & The Wailers
Starlight Amphitheater,
Burbank, California
1978-07-22
Peter Tosh was playing a show on the other side of town that night, He ended his set early and raced acrossed town to play on "Get Up Stand Up". It would be the last time Bob And Peter would ever perform together. Mick Jagger and Diana Ross watched this show form backstage. Also Ben Harper, at 9 years old, was brought to this concert by his Dad. This Concert would prove to be a huge influence on his future music and Life Style, He says He Saw God that night.

  • thanks for sharing, Bob and Pete together again, wonder if they could sense that??

  • I have a question, who wrote the line "you can fool some people sometimes, but you can fool all the people all the time". Was it Bob or Peter? Or was it someone else in the band?

  • @rockthemix bob never new he was in the building either acording to Peter Tosh

  • I heard Ben Harper talkin about a show bob marley did. the funny thing is that pete tosh was in the building but nobody knew it. And when the song began, pete appeared on stage and everybody was like "waoh" cause it was the first time bob and pete were on the same stage. Also, still according to Ben Harper, people were passing j#int to each other, everywhere.. Must have been an incredible show. It's a shame there's no video :(

  • All this happended in Burbank? I live in Burbank, what a trip

  • I put this show on....mick jagger and some others sat in doing backing vocals as well. it was quite a night. the show we put on at the greek theatre at uc berkeley was someting else....bob said it was one of the best shows he ever played. thanks for posting this...good memories. regards, sepp donahower
