Great Performance! Good Stereo Recording! Was anything used to attenuate the mic?

I started recording club shows at the end of January with a Zi6, and via some trial and error (lots of bad advice on the Internet), came up with a recipe of sorts: use VirtualDub (w/Quicktime Alternative) to open the Zi6's MOV files; save the audio as a WAV file; clean up the video and audio separately; convert the audio file to MP3; and then use VirtualDub to dub back in the cleaned-up MP3. I do the same with my new Zi8. For the Precinct vids, I had to EQ down the lower midrange a *lot*.
