Most people aren't going to notice a turn signal amongst all the other flashing lights...
-
@Interception375 >>>---> To start with it was a female driving while talking on her cell phone. The law is pretty clean here as what to do when an emergency apparatus is approaching despite the number of lights it has on.. Read the scrolling text at the end of this video.

the ambulance driver should of not tried to turn while a high speed vehicle was about to cross
-
Who else was expecting tf2 voices.

seems like an american thing to do

I just wish cops would be as defensive as the emergency vehicle drivers are. I admit it was a shooting call and the cops WERE chasing the suspect, but to have 2 of the cop cars go the wrong way into oncoming traffic was not the thrill of a lifetime for me. I was able to go right and avoid them, but that sure freaked me out that day....Yes, the got the guy (Fatal end for him, too bad)

Not sure if fake..I witnessed a similar incident. Some young teenage boys pulled out in front of one exiting a highway- hopefully they learned..but I doubt it

@kpfani A personal injury lawyer is the last person I'd ask to get a factual answer. They're scum. As for apparatus drivers being at fault, I've been in 8 crashes in my career, driving in 4 of them, and NOT ONE was the FD's fault. I was hit once from behind with lights and sirens operating.

People! All you have to do is pull over to the right and stop! Very simple! That ambulance was going to a serious emergency and the person it is responding to could die in a matter of seconds! Seriously, some people are just morons.
staged

no matter how dumb, ignorant, innattentive, blonde, or all of the above the civilian driver is, it is the apparatus operators responsibility to reach the scene 1-safely. 2-timely. an apparatus operator may have lots of friends and brotherhood of the fire service, but he/she will sit ALONE in the witness box before a jury if someone gets killed while responding to a call. on way or another, most of the time, an apparatus crash will be the operators fault.

@kpfani >>>---> The medic unit arrived on the scene safely, because the driver knew that a pickup truck was heading right for him if he made the turn. He has the right to get a little pissed and hit his horns. I have not seen where apparatus drivers are, "most of the time at fault.". Please direct us to the statistics where this is shown to be true.

@zaffdoc simple really, just ask your departments insurer about it, or ask any personal injury or civil rights attorney. they can spell it out for you.
