*Please read full description, especially if you've never seen "The Fall"!*
Just when he's given up all hope and lost the will to live, Roy finds an "Angel of Mercy" in Alexandria. Though he believes that both his life and his story are doomed to end in tragedy, the little girl saves his life, both in the real world and in the imaginary one he creates for her.
Movie: "The Fall"
Song: "Mercy" by One Republic
If you've never seen "The Fall", shame on you go watch it right now! You really cannot understand nor appreciate my vid and its message without having seen the movie... even a summary doesn't really do it justice.
Here is an abbreviated version if you want to watch my vid and at least kind of get it (Hahaha). SPOILERS AHEAD.
The movie takes place in the very beginning of the 20th century. Roy is a silent-movie stuntman who is paralyzed from the waist down (I *think* temporarily, but the movie's never 100% clear) and bedridden after a stunt goes horribly wrong.
At the hospital, he meets Alexandria, a little Romanian girl (who is still learning English) who broke her arm after falling out of a tree. Alexandria begins visiting Roy every day so that she can hear more of the beautiful story he has begun telling her -- which the audience gets to see through Alexandria's imagination (of course, Roy is the masked hero of the tale, while she casts herself as the hero's daughter).
We quickly find out, however, that, though Roy genuinely cares for the little girl, the story is just a trick to earn her trust so that she will steal morphine for him and he can kill himself. It turns out that the tragic love triangle depicted in Roy's tale is not entirely fiction -- his heart was broken by his girlfriend, and losing her has sent him spiraling into depression.
After two unsuccessful suicide attempts, Alexandria (who does not understand what Roy is trying to do) tries one last time to steal pills for him, but falls and re-injures herself, needing emergency surgery. When she wakes up, Roy is at her bedside. His previous depression, combined with the guilt he feels over Alexandria's fall has sent him over the edge.
He continues the story, but turns it into a tragedy and kills off each character one-by-one, despite the little girl's protests. When he finally begins killing his OWN character, Alexandria begins to cry and begs him to let the character live, proclaiming "I don't want you to die" (ahh! Such an incredible metaphor!).
He is so touched by the little girls love that Roy rediscovers his will to live and decides to allow his character to survive the story and escape with his daughter.
There is a little bit more at the end of the movie, but I'll let you guys look it up yourself so I don't keep rambling on and on in my vid description haha.
Hope you enjoy! Please comment! (And go watch THE FALL!)
I loved their relationship in this film, most films done today are usually about the relationships between a female and male in a sexual way, but it's rare and nice to see other types of love stories with strangers in this case with him being the father figure and where each other teaches the other something. I enjoyed your video it brought a smile to face, thanks.

wow!
nice work. Great choice of song too.
They had great chemistry together. Even though Roy was not alexandria's real father, he sure acted like the perfect one.
