Zapruder Heirs Get $16 Million For Dallas Film

A divided Federal arbitration panel announced today that the Government must pay the heirs of Abraham Zapruder $16 million for his film of President John F. Kennedy's assassination, the highest price ever paid for a historical American artifact.

The award for the quarter-inch-wide, six-foot long strip of film that experts said was too fragile to safely run through a projector cannot be appealed. The Government acquired Mr. Zapruder's 26-second film last year under a Federal law enacted in 1992 that requires all records of the Kennedy assassination to be transferred to the National Archives for preservation, research and other noncommercial purposes.

Today, two of the panel's three members, Arlin M. Adams and Kenneth R. Feinberg, wrote in their majority decision that the film made by Mr. Zapruder, as the Kennedy motorocade rolled through Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963, was ''a unique historical item of unprecedented worth.'' A third member of the panel, Walter E. Dellinger, dissented. He said that the price set by the majority ''was simply too large an amount in light of the evidence in the record.''

Robert S. Bennett, a lawyer for the family, said today that he was pleased by the decision. ''The family and the Government agreed that arbitration was the most dignified way to satisfy the constitutional requirement of just compensation,'' he said. ''This approach assured that the National Archives will possess the film for the benefit of all the Americanpeople.''

Zapruder Arbitration Board has agreed to pay 16 million for the Zapruder film.

The question is whether Abraham Zapruder's family should be allowed to profit using the corporation LMH Inc. when in 1963 Zapruder belonged to the Dallas Council on World Affairs, a CIA front organization, as did de Mohrenschildt? George Bush's mentor Neil Mallon founded this organization.

In 1964 the Warren Commission found that Jeanne and her husband George de Mohrenschildt were Marina and Lee Oswald's closest friends.

Ten years before the assassination in 1953 Zapruder had worked with Jeanne de Mohrenschildt at the Nardis of Dallas clothing factory. Jeanne designed the clothes while Zapruder cut her patterns.

Not only did Jeanne and Zapruder worked together, they were in 1953 both friends with Olga Fehmer at Nardis of Dallas. Olga's daughter Marie would become the personal secretary of Lyndon Johnson's. Marie was on board Air Force One following JFK's death. The Fehmer family attended Senator Chuck Robb's wedding to Lynda Johnson.

Throughout the 1950s George de Mohrenschildt worked out of a CIA-trust building and exchanged letters in 1963 with LBJ seven months before JFK's death. De Mohrenschildt met with LBJ on April 26, and again on May 20th.

The man in charge of the CIA, President Bill Clinton's own lawyer, Robert Bennett represented the Zapruder Family in this case before the Zapruder Arbitration Board. Clinton's Attorney General appointed Al Gore's brother-in-law, Frank Hunger, to represent our Government's interest in the Zapruder case. Hunger quit after Adamson complained to Janet Reno of this conflict of interest.

George Bush Sr. was President and was responsible for signing into law in 1991-92 The JFK Assassination Records Review Board Act which took possession of Zapruder's film under this act.

  • Yep.I've always wondered who owned it.

Didn't Zapruder sell it to Time Life who held onto it for a while and then sold it..no..gave..no sold it back to the Zapruder family who then sold it to someone else..I think..or maybe they sold it onto someone else..or maybe...they're waiting to have it given back to them so they can sell it again....and then wait to have it given back to them again so they can...sell it to someone else..Who owns it right now?

Or is it between sales..like sort of in limbo?

  • sorry i crapped over the interview audio with music, but you should check out the original interview with Bennet, cuz he clarifies some things about the film. the channel is:

  • Zapruder never actually "owned" the film because he was ordered to go shoot the footage and turn it over to his handlers. So in reality he wasn't shooting his own movie as he was hired to shoot footage. Any money he received was hush money. Then the movie was retouched and altered. TV Fakery then and TV Fakery now (911)

  • @abennett4Asshole Idiot. Manufacturers of rifles and ammunition do not make them sometimes slightly undersized. "Hey guys, lets make some ammo that is 1/4 inch shorter for Oswald, and let's stamp it 38 Auto instead of 38 SPC". LOL !!! You totally fucking IDIOT. LOL. There was only ballistics lies from co-conspirator Hoover.

Frazier lied. There was no curtain rods package. The shipping clerk, Jack Edwin Dougherty, said Oswald did not carry a package to work that morning.

  • @funkmasterjee the documented evidence is the WC FBI and Marina statements, as listed already for Dec 63 and Jan 64 in parenthesis.

  • @funkmasterjee hard evidence is always made hard to come by. Try Bertrand Russell, a famous writer of that era. It is called "16 questions on the assassination".

One of the eyewitnesses to the Tippit kill was shot in the head, but survived. Another Tippit victim was the brother of Benevides, who saw the killer and NEVER said it was Oswald. Not even on the youtube did he say "Oswald". When the authorities are the criminals, do you speak anyway and get yourself or family killed?

  • @jacobji5

" illegal incarceration, threats of bodily harm & deportation, and brainwashing by the FBI & CIA. "

I'm not necessarily saying you're wrong - but is there any hard evidence of that ? witness statements? documentary evidence ?

  • @funkmasterjee Look at the video: Marina Oswald first interview.

It reveals how "out of sorts" she still is. I copied/posted some of the FBI/CIA incarceration statements. Note they are part of the WC record. Bertrand Russell in 1964 told the public she was under forced arrest for 9 weeks, 24/7.What would they doing with you for 9 weeks?

It was proven to be Oswald's face over Roscoe White's body, and that the CIA purchased the Z film. Dis-agents are here 24/7 to say otherwise

  • Progression of FBI & Marina Oswald statements after 9 weeks of illegal incarceration, threats of bodily harm & deportation, and brainwashing by the FBI & CIA.

12/3/63, FBI: "Marina said she had never seen Oswald practice with his rifle or any other firearm and he had never told her that he was going to practice". (22H763)

12/4/63, FBI: "She cannot recall ever hearing Oswald state that he was going to fire the rifle in practice or that he had fired it in practice". (22H785)

    (continue below)

  • 2/3/64, Marina's brainwashed appearance at the WC with a CIA interpreter.

Mr. Rankin: "Did you learn at any time that he had been practicing with the rifle"?

Mrs. Oswald (CIA): "I think he went once or twice. I didn't actually see him take the rifle, but I knew he was practicing".

Mr. Rankin: "Could you give us a little help on how you knew"?

Mrs. Oswald (CIA): "He told me. And he would mention that in passing, he would say, "Well, today I will take the rifle along for practice". (1H14-15)

  • @jacobji5 marina saw the rifle with her own two eyes. I generally agree with you but I think on this you're wrong. There is little doubt that Oswald purchased a rifle and revolver by mail order.

  • @abennett4 " Oswald's pistol had some work done on the barrel. That's why it didn't leave the markings on the bullets " - It doesn't matter. Then the revolver should STILL have matched up with the bullets. It didn't

  • @funkmasterjee Correction. Oswald did not own any gun. No rifle, no pistol, none. The picture in the backyard was Oswald's face pasted on DPD / CIA Roscoe White's body. Oswald's wife Marina originally denied taking any picture, until after she was brainwashed over a 9 week period from Dec to Jan. You should see the 1st interview of her afterward. It shows.

  • @abennett4 There's no proof the package contained a rifle. The shells found at the Tippet murder were the WRONG kind for a revolver (any revolver). They would have FALLEN OUT of a revolver.

There is no such thing as undersize shells - they are meant to work with a specific caliber ONLY

The bullets found in Tippet could not be proven to match Oswald's revolver.

And by the way - Oswald did not own a pistol, he owned a revolver
