  • Warren's singing was too covered. Lawrence Tibbetts was far superior. Sayao surpasses all the sopranos performing today

  • ...I'll take it...but liked better the way Toscanini pushed Albanese and Merrill in his recording......so much more intense, more electrifying.....still hear it that way, nomatter who sings it
