  • Truth be told, once I was near the top, I wished I had left it alone as well...

  • Also Alan, when you top out Christian Mtn and head towards Coalwood, there is a grown over road that can be walked and you will be on the opposite mtn in #2. You will be behind the old mine site (ridge between #2 and Coontree) and can actually look down on #2 bottom. I hunted all these ridges in the late 1970s and 80s. We got lost once while squirrel hunting and ended up at Frog level ON FOOT. That was a long walk and needless to say, that mistake was addressed by mom and dad...

  • I'll probably let that one be......haha. I'm pretty much a wuss and can't take it too rough.....haha. I really appreciate the info. It's really good to know this stuff.

  • Once by the old gas well on your left(at the head of the holler), go straight up over the hump and there is a road there, or should I say a ditch. Its hard to see the road, and it really looks as nothing is there, but the old road actually follows the holler to the top. Once you get half way up, you are committed and must straddle a 3 foot deep ditch to the top and ride over rocks as bigs as your tires. Water damage has taken its toll and its hard to tell there ever was a road.

  • There is a new gas well in #2. It may have been drilled since you rode there. I have also gone to another gas well in #2.....the one where you stay right handed. It's pretty good road all the way to the well. The place that stopped us on the high road was at about 3 minutes into the video. It looked too rocky and rutted out for us to try the side x side. I hope you have a good ride.

  • If I get my jeep that I pull my trailer with repaired, I am going to bring my ATV home and do more riding this coming weekend. I enjoyed the ride over to Hemphill via the old #3 holler road. I went over there last month and its been probably 30 years or more since we traveled that road as kids with our motorcycles. Maybe I will see you guys out next weekend.

    Bill F.....
