how did you add a movie image to a animated back ground seems impossible...Geez im stumped this program is not very user friendly...PLEASE HELP!

every time I try to import a movie file it says it only lets me import quicktime files (.mov, .qt) can you help me out?

Mine interacts with live people. But just try getting them to do something useful, like washing dishes! Impossible.!!

@mitwinx that was a quick proof of concept shot with a Creative Labs Vado (SD). If it had been for production, I would have used our Canon GL2 or Canon HV40 (really good).

My main question is how do you import a movie file?

It is fairly straight forward:
File>Import>Movie
That will drop the movie as your bottom layer on a new project.

I am using Anime Studio Debut 6 for Windows. When I try to import an image from File/Import/Image, the Image choice is white (not available). How do you import an image? Thanks in advance

Looks like you did it right, that should bring up a Folder window and from there you should be able to navigate to where your media is located. I tested mine and it works just fine.
