  • Can you explain why you can't get botox if you have Multiple Sclerosis? If it is injected just into those spots and those nerves, then why isn't it allowed? Thanks!

  • my esthetician was telling me that when you use botox it paralyzes the muscle... so now that muscle is not being used so then you get even worse sagging and need botox even more. made sense to me. i hope i wont feel like i need it one day, lol.

  • all that happens when you inject too much is you die.

  • There are side effects to botox and some last months on end. Things like flu like symptoms, anxiety, headaches, fatigue etc.. before you have it research it! The makers of botox are not being sued for no reason!

  • Hey Dr Neil,

    Have you had botox yourself?

  • @stagesurvivor5

Statins can have all sorts of horrid side effects as you are probably aware, for men and women alike.

Botox hasn't really been used cosmetically for enough years yet for anyone to know what the cumulative end result will be. They said silicone implants were safe and hundreds of women are sick because of them..

    Call me a botox skeptic.

  • @TheSukiebapswent electrodessication is effective and cheap, but not as high teck....pulsed dye laser also effective but more expensive....should be able to treat the whole area and not permanent since you can certainly develop new telangiectasias.

  • @sparkledlady Would not depend on the type of Botox. There is some fake Botox running around, but Botox treatments should work at least 6 months. I had one patient in which BOTOX only lasted 4 months, but never had a patient where it did not work at all....the injections are more superficial than for facial injections where it is intended for the muscles, so perhaps, your physician injected too deeply?

  • @Indigohue a host of drugs are safe but not allowed in pregnant women..tetracycline, differin cream, statin drugs etc. etc.

  • @TheSenseofTouch it is used in to eliminate wrinkles which makes people look younger, it is also used for migraines and other chronic headaches which are injected into the scalp.

  • Okay, if botox is so safe and it remains localized, why aren't pregnant women allowed to have it?
