My late Mom dated Soupy in high school. He was the mainstay on TV after school. I would have sent green paper but Dad wasn't with it.

TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU GAYLE1, SOUPY WAS CREATIVE AND FUNNY WITHOUT BEING VULGAR OR UNDRESSED OR CHEAP.

@joechristopher2 Most likely it was Lenny. He was always picked on. He was such a good natured guy. He was the floor manager standing right next to the cameras wearing his headset and half glasses. He was a short man and always smiling. Lenny worked on almost every show at Channel-5. He was very well liked by every director for his personality. The people that were on the floor were the camera operators, floor manager, sound effects person, and talent.

@rty1955 Rty, who was the crew member with the high pitched laugh? It's best heard during the part 2 of Pookies's Fairy Tales. Got an e-mail it is Lenny Messina, the floor director.

This was supposed to be a kiddie show, but my dad would sometimes watch it and laugh with me...Dad got a kick out of the more adult humor that I didn't catch. All in good fun and a lot of viewers in all age groups loved his show. Todays television is so lame....RIP, Soup.

Hey kids in Generation Y and X..This man was children's television. There were no Sponge Bob in those days nor Miley or Demi. They should take lessons from this guy. The children entertainers back in the day entertained and had some imagination. RIP Soupy...
