everyone bitchin about cuttin tree down....dont buy a wooden house or anything wooden...its almost impossible. these people have to make a livin too and ppl dont realize that these men who cut timber have more respect for nature than any other person.

it seems there's always a "disconnect" between what's really happening and what "outsiders" perceive. And I suppose that's true of most everything. Which makes me not be too hasty to pass judgement on anything.

Wow that was awesome! Do you harvest from mostly nautural plots or man grown plots?

here, it's called "old growth". Still some of that left up here. The stuff that's been re-planted won't be ready for a while. The second growth is 75-100 years old and it's naturally regenerated. All that timber is being harvested with machinery (feller-bunchers) The sidehills won't be ready to harvest for another twenty or thirty years.

Thanks, I've only seen that stunt done once and this time I happened to have the camera running. It's always fun to "double up" on those big ones. There's still one more to do, but he's gone to town and I'll be finishing the last day of the year by myself. With the bad weather here, I'm not looking forward to it!
