Allen & Heath GS-R24: Analog Console, DAW Controller, Audio Interface In One (Video)

Typically we find overachievers irksome, but the Allen & Heath GS-R24 is one accomplished individual we're happy to have met. This newly introduced recording console was designed with the digital project studio in mind. Retailing for under $10,000 (with first shipments expected by NAMM 2011) it's a fully-featured front-end for any DAW, but also offers integrated DAW transport and plugin control over HUI and well as a number of different firewire interface card options.

That's not all this nifty board has to offer. We got a comprehensive overview of the GS-R24's most salient features courtesy Allen & Heath's national sales manager Michael Palmer, who made sure to point out the integrated digital routing controls as well as the board's dual, tube-driven microphone preamps.
