1712: West Indian British slave owner William Lynch allegedly travels to the United States to instruct American slave owners on how to make and control slaves; he left a letter with specific instructions. The term "lynching" derives from his name. Flash forward to 2009 where we meet Nix Dunn, a Brooklyn NY public school teacher/scholar on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Obsessed with the letter, he formulates a Lesson Plan during Black History Month in a desperate attempt to substantiate his belief that the slave mentality continues to inflict psychological damage in African Americans.
