Good point well made mate, but OFAH is still not funny and never will be. David Jason was at his best in Open All Hours, which wasn't that funny anyway, but Ronnie Barker was a comedy genius and made rubbish watchable. Honestly, he made a bleak comedy about prison funny, and I can't think of anyone else who could do that. Can you imagined if OFAH had been written by RC and he was Del boy?

it's not just yours. i'm a brit living in the US and the funniest stuff here is always a thousand times less available than fucking gobshite like king of queens, or everybody loves raymond or something. i reckon that's the best way really, makes the best stuff feel really special and exciting.
