here is what really happened. The spider gear retainer BROKE, thereby freeing the right side axle. The axle floated outward but then threaded itself back in the rear end. the tire/wheel never separated itself from the car.

nice theory, but it's just a theory....because if you ACTUALLY watch the video, the rubber leaves the rim.
