A bit harsh. I'd say Romford sits in the middle - there are far better places to live but also far worse. It's also reasonably safe, despite what people have said below. Muggings are certainly unheard of.

In 80s Romford, you couldn't move for fantastically fit blondes, gorgeous but gobby geezers and some of the best fashion shops around. It's a complete craphole now.
