  • my dad was serving on her at the time of the accident. i was 7 months old at the time, i was born in portsmouth hospital, and lived in philly for the duration of her being mothballed in the philly base, so had the honor of seeing my fathers beautiful ship regularly. anyone that served on her i respect greatly, thankyou for all of these posts.

  • On the Salem we have a memorial room for the Newport News but i still don't know exactly what happend?
