I doubt you're still playing like this but Index, Middle and Pinky. Don't use your ring finger at all in the beginning. It isn't a matter of simple technique. You need to develop on proper technique so you can develop on tone so you are aware of sound vs feel. Most people don't have enough dexterity to play correctly with their ring finger from the get go (even if you are an experienced electric bassist) so they end up compensating which results in physical injury or flat out bad tones.
