Thats why context matters. I was pointing out that lyric on screen was wrong. When that scripture speaks of "you are a light on a hill" it refers to being bearers of the truth(gospel) in a dark world. It only refers to those whom God has regenerated( called, chosen, brought to life by the work of the Holy Spirit) believers. Remember, the scripture is real literature and language.You have to look at the context to see who is speaking & to whom they are speaking & what is the meaning of writer.

Please don't dismiss the mystical core of our Christian tradition so easily... Please don't idolize Scripture either (making it into a god or God). And please, don't box Truth... @RusBlassoples 2Peter1:19-21 which also mentions "a lamp shining in a dark place" which it ascribes to "the prohetic word", Scripture. This is why Scripture must interpret Scripture. By the way I like the song and video. Did not intend on what happened. God is sovereign so may He bless us with His intent of this sharing of Scripture.

These words are attributed to Jesus in Matthew's Gospel: 'You are the salt of the earth.. YOU are the LIGHT of the world, Let YOUR light shine' (5:13-16). Get it? Jesus is speaking about us!
