@tufionxxx Nope. I actually agree with @MindinViolet on this one, I just failed to make that clear in my comment. I don't believe his Atheism is what caused his actions.

Anyone can agree with the state of man in what he describes, but this speech is naive in what it prescribes. Man is fallen and cannot fix his own evil nature, as he seems to suggest we ought to do. He's calling us to a goal that is impossible, out of man's power. God alone sanctifies man, and will restore his full good nature through the cross of Christ.
