Here is a video of my ATCS Configuration when I go railfanning and how it works when a BNSF Garbage Train goes through MP 18 signal at Edmonds, WA.

How does it work?: If there is a green line indication then there is a clear indication signal for that given direction as I showed the difference. The red line means a track occupancy, which means a train is most likely on that point, as I try to show what happens to the red line when a BNSF Garbage rolls by.

My Configuration:
A Uniden Bearcat SC150 Yellow Scanner with Discriminator Tap Modification connected with a dubbing cable to my Dell Laptop Computer with the ATCS program on. For most scanners, you have to modify your scanner with a Discriminator Tap Protocol or a Digital Scanner will work without a tap. Without your scanner being modified with the tap or a digital scanner with Audio Output interface, it will not work with ATCS if you are planning to be railfanning on location. However, you can connect into designated servers if you are connected at home or at a wi-fi location without a scanner.

  • Pretty much cuts all the guesswork out of trainwatching. If know where the trains are then you can catch them at the place of your choosing and efficiently plan out your day.

  • Exactly.

  • Sweet, BNSF 4398!!!

  • I like your video but I like that Lincoln Town car too, I have one like it.

  • Thats a beautiful RS3K!

  • I wonder if there is a configuration for the Winsor Corridor up here in Montreal...

  • there is mokery in that garbage train. BNSF SD40-2s and geeps led the trains with leslies and k3s and now a h2 dash9 typicaly associated with k3 type horns is leading the train with a good leslie, why the great leslie would be taking of a old loco i dont know.

  • ATCS Yahoo group.

  • So where can I get acts? Seems pretty neat
