just an update, Openreach have started laying the access pipes for the fibre cabinets, including my own, if they were any vacancies going for engineers to install fibre i would jump at the chance. since been made redundant 3 years ago.

why can't it be that straight forward, ring a couple of guys. (that sounds dodgy) with a tractor, and lat your own fibre line.

good idea entering it on the European Commission site! I hope they show it at the plenary, this sort of stuff is what we are all going to have to do if we want next generation access. Dial up is so slow, its not worth using.
