in La Follette, TN intercepting a tornadic supercell...we are positioned just south of the area...currently going over videos/photos with fellow meteorology majors to dermine if this is a funnel or just a scud bomb...we did observe upward ascent with the scud and minor rotation

EDIT** - this storm produced two areas of EF-2 damage across northeastern TN...the circulation was disrupted by the range when we intercepted it, resulting in what we say as a disrupted funnel cloud

i remember this this is my hometown but where in lafollette did it hit

it was on the ground as an EF-2 both west and east of town...it was just a funnel near Lafollette...you can read the report issued on this tornado by the National Weather Service out of Morristown, TN by using the link provided in the video description

yep, we drove all the way from Asheville, NC

the NWS Morristown has a report page for it now...it was rated an EF-2 both west and east of our location here...it just happened to hit a mtn range and disrputed the circulation...leaving what we saw here on the video

that my home town, i was acutually less than a mile away from where you were right then thats crazy, i knew they said tornado warning but a sight like that is very rare where i live, i was at my girlfriends and where that cloud is, is right in the direction of my house. but i guess that mountian kept it from gettin me lol
