Part three. Here are the notes:

• Travel throughout Mexico. Bad experience travel w/ Americans.

• 2007 - Spanish obsession period.
• Interest in Castilian Spanish.
• Spanish hip-hop.
• Cabreados Podcast. Las Cosas Curiosas. Yo Gordo. Different accents.
• Learn Andalusian accent and Madrilian accent... basics.
• Gradual shift from anglicized Mexican Spanish to more Castilian via podcast.
• Strange two-week period porteño accent, Desde el Baño & friend from Buenos Aires. Probably very bad. Learned very important skill: aspirate.

• 2008 - study abroad in Spain. One year.

• Choice Madrid vs. Getafe (party vs. homestay)
• GREAT host family. Two little kids. Dad former military.

• Lessons with Aaron.
• Lessons with Pedro. Principal influence on accent. Very hoarse and deep voice. Not like mine at all.

Realized, the more I distance my English from my Spanish, easier sound like fluent speaker. Relative softness of Mexican Spanish allowed for more anglicized pronunciation.

Learned muletillas, pause words, for example, "¿Qué ocurre?", pues nada, ala, anda, etc.

Greatest leap in pronunciation due to Pedro. Love his accent.

  • OMG, you imitate so well the Andalusian accent!!!! Really!! By the way, I´m from Seville, Andalucía.:)

  • @titamuriel Hola Titamuriel :) guau qué ilusión me ha hecho leer tu comentario esta mañana! Me ENCANTA Sevilla. Tengo tantas ganas de volver :) además es una tierra de grandes raperos. Siempre me alegra mucho leer las opiniones de los andaluces que pasan por este humilde rincón. Algunos se han ofendido o me han acusado de pintar mal a los andaluces, nada más lejos de la verdad... sé perfectamente que hay muchos acentos andaluces... sólo tengo que encontrar más recursos! Espero que me sigas :)

  • @houlmouth Cabreados is hard to find. You have to go to El Ultimo Blog and then go back in the archives to the 164th or so page. Then you can start going through the episodes of Cabreados.

Notes in Spanish you can google it. Sorry I can'tpost links directly here.

  • @dychui Where can i find those podcasts that you listed.
