This is the annual Shinto fire festival held in Keishoin Temple, Seto, Japan. There is a full day of rituals culminating in a fire walking display. When the Shinto priests have walked over the fire, anyone in attendance can also join in. People even carried children across it, which was a bit nuts. When the fires die down lots of young kids walk across it. My four-year-old and seven-year-old both walked, as did I.
