I borrowed this lens from a neighbour for about a month and all i can say is IM IN LOVE AND I WANT 1 lol im saving up for 1 now, its sharp as a brand new stanley blade, contrasty, colours are vivid and even the bokeh is nice, stunning for macro and also stunning for longer shots.

I've got this lens. It's one of my favourite lenses. Really well made and beautiful results. Great for Macro, portraits and seems to shoot exactly to the same proportions as what my eye actually sees.

Rebel T1i is the same EOS 500D like Rebel T2i is the same EOS 550D.. same cam diferent name acording country!! All EF-S lenses work only in APS-C format!!!

Just be careful - its so sharp you might cut yourself!
Frankly if it had a RED RING they could charge loads more
Its MUCH sharper than my 24-105 L ... enjoy

This might be for one of two reasons, 1st I come from a family of boxers or more likely its because the box and the lens are quite small !

The lens can be used as a pro spec lens but there's no reason why us none Pro's cant enjoy it as well. Just check that your Canon camera isn't full frame (such as the 5d 5d MK2 or any of the earlier film cameras as it won't fit.

does it work on T1i and is it the best for macro photos ?

Not sure what a T1i is (no known model number here in the UK), it will work with Canon 20D/ 30D 40D/ 50dD 7D/ 300d/ 350D/ 400D/ 450D/ 500D/ 550D. As an EF - S lens it will NOT work with any older 35mm Canon SLR's not even the autofocus models and it won't work with work with full frame digital cameras such as the 5D/ 5D Mk2.
