Harry Chapin sings BANANAS Live 1977

1977 No alternate endings but great performance by Harry and the guys! Only problem is, the audience is lacking in enthusiasm. It was a taping of a German tv show, 'Rockpalast' and it looks like they filled the audience by paying people to be there and clap. Poor Harry! He works hard to get them interested, but they just don't get it. Should have let real fans attend.

Harry Chapin played this for my son, Paul, at his last concert in Loiisville, KY. He was taking requests and my 5 year old son yelled "Play the Banana Song." Harry Chapin really knew how to put on a concert that everyone could enjoy. Taken from us much too young.

That reminds me...what is the latest concert of Harry Chapin on DVD? I know there's the final concert on VHS (it's on DVD too? Do tell...) but I really want to know where I can look them up and order them. Any ideas?

It feels like the crowd are confused and not quite sure what to expect from Harry Chapin as if they were expecting another Jim Croce or Simon&Garfunkel. :S

if you're talking about Mary Chapin Carpenter, she is his 5th cousin. his kids names are Jennifer and Joshua. he also had 3 step children Jaime, Jason and Jonathan.. :)
