I've had this model almost two years and I love it more than I should LOL my BF tells me I read too much and should watch more tv ha ha! I rarely use the backlight, so that saves batter life big time. It takes any ebook (in the right format), you don't have to buy from Sony - download any book torrent and convert it using free CALIBRE software and migrate it over, works just great! Two years going strong, could not love it more!!!

The 700 has been discontinued and the 600 is the current touchscreen model. It doesn't have a built-in light anymore but supposedly has a much better contrast and less glare. Also, it looks better IMO. Costs 300€.

I am just wondering about battery life. The 505 was not a touch screen or had fancy litght but the battery was great. Would the touch sceeen and the light deplete the battery faster? Just wondering

Great looking and I like the touch screen option but still glad I purchased the Kindle 2.
