The Cook Children's Medical Center NICU cares for newborns and infants with problems related to premature birth, respiratory failure and conditions requiring surgery. The NICU features specialized equipment, monitoring and lighting and décor that gives premature babies time to grow and develop. Babies may also need specialized care for birth anomalies, respiratory distress or illness, and neurological conditions. Board-certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners provide 24 hour-a-day staffing.

  • I just decided that this is what I want to do. To be able to help families have their own little miracle would be the best job in the world.

  • @theejesslynn I'm starting my senior year on august 8 which is my b-day too. I want to be a Neonatologist also. I'm praying the best for everyone who wants to help these beautiful babies whether you want to be a neonatal nurse or a neonatologist.

  • @theejesslynn

wow this is so inspiring :), I like your comment its wonderful to choose these vocations to service others in their struggles! I will be praying that you will bless many in your profession. Im hopefully going to be going into nursing school next fall (Lord willing). !!! I want to be a NICU nurse one day!

  • I was ALWAYS a baby person and when I was small, I always told my family I was gonna be a "baby doctor." I just changed my major to Science and in two semesters, I am transferring out to a university to major in Bio. I did it with the thought of becoming an OB/GYN and literally like 20 minutes ago, my mentality changed. Delivering a child is beautiful but possibly extending their tiny lives when hope is little to none is just.. amazing. I cannot wait to become a Neonatologist.

  • this video makes me want to be a neonatal nurse and take care of these beautiful, adooorable babies!
