This is a refurbished Sterling 2V8 240 volt siren. We rebuilt the siren that had not ran in more than 15 years. We then installed a AR timer and we hooked up the old Motorola receiver to see if it still worked and it did. The siren is located at the Long Creek Fire Dept in Huntersville NC. It is still unclear if they will use it for fire calls or only for storm warnings.

  • @PINKBOY1006 The 2001 is there for McGuire Nuclear Power plant warnings.

  • You got to love the wind down noise of fire sirens

  • why is there a 2001 there the 2001 sucks

  • I recall our Fire Hall had the same monitor receiver for out pagers and fire siren activation. I guess everyone did.

Our Hall siren was a double tone unit.. Sounded awesome with a really long coast after power was turned off. I miss those days!!

  • I'd like to have something like that when my mother in law comes into town.

  • sounds great !!

  • sounds like a model 2 a bit lol

  • When are you going to fix Steele Creek station one's siren? Now that's one loud siren. Is it really an aca screamer? It sounded just like a model 5!

  • Very nice video and I like the idea of restoring some of these sirens for storms-this state needs a better storm siren system. I wish some of them would get set up in the east.

  • @jsncrso You are exactly right
