Adobe has changed the command and suggests holding the alt or option (Mac) key down and with the mouse, clicking the line in between the text layer and the layer above.

For this tutorial I used iShowU for Mac. Ripple was one of the click options. If you Google shinywhitebox, you can find iShowU. It is a great deal if you purchase the bundle with Stomp.
