They did substitute but never the real replacement,very rugged airframe and even the super Hornets won't get near the A-6 amazing range and huge payload

@mustang33fly I'am going to the naval academy next month, i really want to fly the EA-6B's but rumor is the navy might remove that option and let existing crews continue till 2016-2019 is this true?

Was this in preparation for Desert Storm?

@marvinsmith4 Exactly. I saw "Intruder Nostalgia" on my recommended videos and almost fell out of my seat when both videos were in-cockpit recordings. Very rare on YouTube.

These are great vids. Don't see a whole lot of untarnished A-6 footage on the internet, especially from inside the plane, thanks for posting 'em! Got any more?
Also, where was the mountainous low level stuff filmed?
Anyone notice that the pilot is wearing an old USAF MBU 5 oxygen mask?

@fraucow
Two helmets types here. Pilot has the single visor type and I have the clunky double visor. It let me be lazy in that I didn't have to switch out day/night visors before flights. At that time (circa 1991) the USAF-style helmets were all the rage and lots of guys went for those--still in use today. They have no hard cover over the visor. I never went that route. Now my old helmet gathers dust on a bookshelf.
