I was lucky enough to have known Delores and John and Her Three Aunts and Uncle and Her Father and Her Brother Sean back in the late 70s and early to mid 80s..The Memories of those Days will stay with me forever.......

Thank you for the encouragement! With regret there are few Irish teachers where I live. i did attend a class but it was mixed ability and dominated by a very arrogant woman who was friends with the teacher. I was not happy with her teaching style either! I can speak 3 languages but Irish the language I would like to learn escapes me alas. Any suggestions would be welcomed though!

It might be how she learned it.

Three generations a go my family spoke on Irish. I am ashamed that I only know 5 words. This song does indeed reach into the soul. I am ashamed that the songs and poems of past generations are for ever lost. Thank you for this video.

I think the "Brightness" level of this video should be increased as it comes over pretty dark.Sound quality is fine and Dolores is as usual in 1st class voice mode..

"Tá mo ghrá mar bhláth na n-áirne
Bíos AG SNÁMH i dtús an tsamhraidh"
seo dhuit...
agus thuas ag Gort A' Chornáin
Tá áille ban Éireann
'S an té a gheobhadh óna máithrín í.
Ba taca í le bréagadh
Is go dtug mo chroí grá di le páirt den díth chéille
'S d'éalaigh sí leis an táilliúr uaim
'S é ránaiche fear Éireann
