On the website at http://supergroup.netfirms.com/index4.html you can vote for the 80's Supergroup vs 90's Supergroup in Battle of the Bands TV show concept (to benefit charity).
Which supergroup would make a greater album, the 80's Supergroup with Eddie Van Halen, Steve Tyler, Ozzy Osbourne, Geddy Lee, Lars Ulrich, and Angus Young or the 90's Supergroup with John Frusciante, Dave Grohl, Robert De Leo, Chris Cornell, Billy Corgan, and Eddie Vedder.

  • where the fuck kurt cobain. he was one of the greatest songwriters/frontmen of all time. other than that good list.

  • The idea was this was going to be a real TV show where the money generated would go to the charities of the Supergroup members - so only living musicians were included in these Supergroups. They made me mute the music because of copyright issues.

  • Haha, I laughed...Lars Ulrich for Drum...can you at least choose a talented drummer? The rest was good, but I though there was some weird combinations. Here's my list: 80's Metal Band: John Bush - Vocals Alex Skolnick - Lead Guitar Dave Mustaine - Rythim Guitar Billy Sheehan - Bass Neil Peart - Drums 90's Stoner Grunge Band: Eddie Vedder - Vocals Bob Balch - Lead Guitar Jerry Cantrell - Rythm Guitar Les Claypool - Bass Danny Carey - Drums
  • Thanks for the suggestions - make sure you vote for your favorites on the Supergroup website.

Also, I've got Neil Peart on another one of my Supergroup Battles - men vs women.

  • come on 80 wasn't only metal there was disco

  • This is more of a battle of generations - not genres - just hard rock music here.

  • You can't compare fucking Grunge with bands like: Y&T, Gotthard, Tyketto, TeslaSteeheart, Whitesnake, Rainbow, to name a few...

Those bands are just awesome because of their music, not because they wear a teapot, because it's hip to wear a teapot!

  • metal all sounds the same except for a few ballads, kurt cobain over axl rose any day

  • grunge took the 90's and wiped out metal

  • I like both but of course the 80's are by far my favorite thing ever nothing compares.
