Flying into Lukla is a thrill. This tiny airport at 9,405 feet in the Himalayas in Nepal was built by Sir Edmund Hilary. The short runway has an incline of 12% grade. At one end of the runway is a Himalayan mountain. At the other end is a large cliff and a raging river.
