thank you dave, i want to give wood stove a try this winter and see how it goes,if i like it then i'll just buy the new one (if needed). what i'm talking about is the little tubes(reburners) pipes with tiny holes on top of the box.lokks like gas reburners? you know. one i like near me used. i just want to be in the 75% efficiency bracket.
oh and i make plugs for stripers and blues.

can an old model hearthstone woodstove be switches from catalist to a non catalyst?
i'm buying a hearthstone heritage not sure if used or new,the used one i'm interested doesn't have the biomas tech-older-, i wonder if it can be added as a separate conversion fee. those who don't want to spend 3k again it comes handy.

Thanks Greenmarine. the stove is great, but it eats wood like a tiger.. $45.00 gas bills compared $365.00 last year, so we are happy

Yes Foxacheck. My friend has this stove, he has a 2200 sq ft home and heats his whole home very toasty even on -10 F days. The stone doesn't get as hot as cast Iron. The stone gets up to about 400 F. He burns Ash,maple,Oak, Locus and sometimes cherry. In my opinion it's the best stove I have come across. I think it heats better than most top of the line Vermont castings and Lopi stoves. You are going to be very happy you made this purchase. I'd suggest venting in air from the outside as well.

Getting this stove next month. does anyone have this stove or info on it?
Surf,
awesome name! i am an avid striper fisherman myself- but mostly in the Sacramento river- my friend caught a 46lber there last week, and we are planning a trip for next tuesday.
No, catalytic model can't be upgraded to non-catalytic, but i'm not sure why you would want to, any Catalytic stove built after 1990 will be just as efficient as current models.
The epa hasn't raised standards since then....

Here is an excerpt from a review by a customer of ours, received 11-18-09
We were hesitant to buy this stove, but are so glad we did! After researching stoves that heat 3500sf or more, it is a very limited market. This stove is perfect and didn't disappoint (thank goodness). My fears were unfound and it heats the whole house beautifully, without blowing you out of the room it's in. .... (not enough room to include it all)
