  • if you dont mind me asking what make of backpack do you use, im worried about getting the wrong one and it rubbing.

  • @848phantom The one we have is TriPeaks...it doesnt rub at all. He carries his water bottles and we put 1 on both sides so its pretty even and stops it slipping to 1 side. We started him off with it empty just to get used to it....to start with he banged into things and it made him jump lol :)

  • Excellent. My mal loves backpacking as well.

  • @dieselthemally thanks, ill go look for them now.had see the ezydog ones but then seen one rating saying not for a dog that pulls and ours loves to pull lol

  • @dieselthemally yeah I believe you. All the videos I've seen of malamutes it seems like they are very nice dogs.

  • @catha86 worth the wait :)

  • @dieselthemally thats sad to hear for me :( I really want a malamute but guess i will have to take a rough collie instead, or a golden. As soon as I get a lifestyle where I can take care of a malamute then I will go for it.

  • @catha86 well yea they are hard to care for...they take a lot of attention and want to be involved in everything, as a puppy i wouldnt leave them for that long because of the house training thing...but after thats done it wud be fine. As for people and cars?...we live in the center of town and its just fine. If you can say you want a dog thats gonna be a part of everything you do then a malamute is for you...it isnt your average pet more a lifestyle :) They are worth it thou :)

  • @dieselthemally is it hard to take care of a malamute? can it stay home alone for 4 hours or so? I want to get a malamute and is living in a area with lots of forest but there are many people and cars here too.

  • @catha86 Not anymore no...when he was younger yes but not anymore...most other dogs take a huge disliking to him for some reason. So if we let him off now its always in a gated area with no other dogs, he is fine with other people thou :)
