Risto Micov, ethnic Macedonian born 1942 in the Lerin region, Aegean Macedonia was expelled by age 6 in 1948. In 1968 he received word in the newspapers how the Greek state took off his citizenship accusing him and his family for acting against Greek interests.
The aim behind this is to deny their return to their Macedonian homeland and to deny the return of their property expropriated by the Greek state. The Greek state offered him if he want to return, he must declare himself as a Greek.
Many other Macedonians reported such similiar cases as in the case of Risto Micov.
